During 2005/2006 the building was restored rather than rebuilt. The 19th century carpentry and joinery lovingly renovated. Ancient stone arches and walls revealed, and the typical tiled and marble floors given a new lease of life. The feel of La Fonda could be best described as comfortable and stylish with the warmth of an Irish welcome. From the sun drenched plant filled terrace, to the cool and shaded patio, an air of calm, serenity and silence prevails, only broken by the trickle of water flowing in the marble fountain.
